Garbage and Recycling Information

Garbage Pickup Program

With the current State of Illinois stay at home order in place, Republic Services is experiencing an increase in waste collection and has had to reallocate personnel accordingly. Thus starting Monday, March 30, Republic Services will only collect garbage from wheeled carts with lids or garbage bags during curbside pickups. Metal or plastic cans with handles no larger than 35 gallon may be used as well.

All bulk items or bulk waste collection will be suspended until further notice. Yard waste collection, which was scheduled to begin April 6, will also be delayed until further notice. At this time, curbside recycling collection will continue as normal and remains unchanged.

The following companies do accept yard waste. Hours of operation may vary and fees and restrictions may apply. We encourage residents to contact the company before delivering any yard waste bags.
