Village President Al Larson

Al Larson

On behalf of the Village Board, Village Clerk, and Village Manager, thank you for visiting the official website of the Village of Schaumburg, Illinois. This site is a valuable component to the many services we offer to our residents and guests. It serves as a focal point for timely information and is a vital communication link between our residents and village staff.

Schaumburg is the largest center of economic development in the State of Illinois, outside the City of Chicago, but it is also very much a community of neighbors and neighborhoods.

Quality of life is important to us and we are constantly working to enhance it. Schaumburg boasts more than 90 miles of bike paths, the Schaumburg Prairie Center for the Arts with a 442-seat theater, gallery, outdoor stage, and the 135 acre Spring Valley Nature Center and Historic Farm site. Offering excellent schools, a superb park district, and superior village services, Schaumburg is a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family. If you are planning a visit, our hotels, restaurants, and shops will make your stay comfortable.

In January 2016, Village President Al Larson held his annual State of Schaumburg presentation at Good Morning Schaumburg hosted by the Schaumburg Business Association. Attended by about 200 people, the event showcased the celebration of the village's 60th anniversary with a fun introduction video and guest speaker Todd Wenger came was invited to talk about the amenities of Schaumburg's historic Schweikher House that was built in 1938.

As part of the event, President Larson invited a guest panel of speakers to help discuss some of the village’s recent successes and some things on the horizon in 2016. The guest panel of speakers included Matt Frank, the village's Economic Development Manager; Lisa Timbo, General Manager of the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel; and Karyn Robles, the village's Director of Transportation. The panelists shared information about new businesses coming to town, improvements on tap at the Renaissance and what to expect in infrastructure work for 2016. Read more about the successes that were highlighted in the State of the Village.
