Dear Valued Customer:
Few things are more valuable to a public servant than being recognized for a job well done. And few things are brighter than an employee's smile when hearing of your compliments about the exceptional service you received.
In the interest of encouraging our employees with the recognition they earn from you, I have introduced a program called "GEM - Going the Extra Mile Award" Your role is extremely important, because it is your acknowledgement of good work that fuels the desire to perform even better the next time.
Whenever a Village of Schaumburg employee receives a commendation from you, whether by letter, email, telephone, or through this page, that special individual will receive a letter from me conveying your "applause" and why you are giving it. With the letter, they'll receive a "GEM" certificate.
So whenever you can single out someone in our organization for a "GEM" from me, please do so. There is much to gain by applying praise where it belongs for you, for our employees, and for the Village of Schaumburg.
