Schaumburg is served by Metra's Milwaukee District West Rail Line connecting to Chicago’s Union Station to the east and Elgin to the west. Ample paid parking is available with the option to purchase reduced rate permit parking passes.

Ticket Purchases

Metra accepts credit cards at all of its downtown stations, including Schaumburg’s Metra station, and other stations where a ticket agent is on duty.

Metra accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover cards for all ticket purchases at its five downtown Chicago stations including Union Station in addition to the Schaumburg Metra Station.

Riders can also now use their credit cards on Metra’s website, www.metrarail.com for monthly passes and 10-ride ticket purchases.


Parking

For spaces located on the north side of the train tracks ONLY. 

Parking at the Schaumburg Station south of the train tracks in Roselle is NOT maintained by the Village of Schaumburg. Questions regarding those parking spaces can be answered by calling CPS Plus Corp. 877.717.0004 for daily fee and 773.714.9262 for monthly parking. Another way to pay for daily parking on the south/ Roselle side of the tracks is to call Park Mobile at 877.727.5004 and your zone is 218.

Paying in Person or by Mail?

  • The cost of a one month pass is $30 and a quarterly pass is $76.       
  • Persons with disabilities will no longer be exempt from the payment of parking meters unless they have a certain types of disability. For details please see 2015 Illinois Parking Program for Persons with Disabilities.

Where Can I Park?

Vehicles displaying a monthly parking pass may use the designated Permit section of the lot – or – the Daily parking section.

  • Patrons cannot reserve a specific space location; lot availability is on a first come first served basis.
  • Handicap parking is available for vehicles displaying a Meter-Exempt Permanent Placard (yellow-and-gray- striped) and DP License Plate. See the attached link for changes the the law.
  • Monthly parking passes must be clearly displayed within the front windshield of the vehicle.

About Daily Parking

  • The daily parking fee is $1.75
  • Each parking space is numbered. Be sure to know your space number when you pay.
  • Pay and Park is available for a maximum of 14 days, which includes overnight parking.
  • There are six (6) parking meters available that accept coins, paper currency, Visa, MasterCard and Discover. Exact change only.

Mobile Payment Parking Option for Daily Fee Users

Commuters utilizing daily fee parking now have the ability to pay for parking using the new Passport Parking mobile application.

To utilize the new service, customers must first download the Passport Parking app from the Apple Store for iPhones and iPads or Google Play for Android users and other tablets. Once downloaded, users will register an account. Participants can also register for the service online or by calling (847) 380-4332.

Once registered for the service, users can submit a payment in three steps:

  • Enter Vehicle Zone Number (60193)
  • Enter your space number that indicates which stall you are parked in.
  • Confirm the time needed for your session.

Please note that payment for a stall does not reserve the space in advance. Users should park first and then pay for the time needed for that particular stall. Payment is required once a person has parked his or her vehicle in a daily fee parking space.

The mobile app allows drivers to extend their parking session to the maximum time allowed, add or update payment card details, as well as manage notification and receipt options. The same functions are also available on the mobile website. Additionally, the mobile application and website allows users to select from multiple language options for non-English speakers.

For users without smart phones, customers are invited to Pay-by-Voice by calling (847) 380-4332, providing the zone and space number and payment information.

Users of the new Passport Parking application will be charged a $.40 service fee for each initial transaction used to purchase a parking space or to extend time using a space if it wasn’t included in the original transaction. Once the maximum time has been reached, customers must leave their parking spot or they are subject to being ticketed.
