Due to construction at the Police Department, classes will be temporarily held at the Prairie Center for the Arts, located at 201 Schaumburg Court.

***Beginning in March, classes will resume at the Schaumburg Police Department, located at 1000 W Schaumburg Road

 

 

Crime Free Multi-Housing Program

Phase 1 (Mandatory per VOS Ordinance 123.02, Section D)

  • Attend the seminar presented by Schaumburg Police Department
  • Topics include Crime Prevention, benefits of applicant screening, crime-free lease addendum, evictions and pro-active management techniques.


Phase 2   (Security Assessment)

•CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) certification.  CPTED reviews and security requirements necessary for tenant’s safety.

Phase 3

  • To obtain full certification, multi-unit property managers will be required to hold a tenant crime prevention meeting and will be provided materials and assistance to publicize the meeting with their tenants.
