The Village Board recently approved a new agreement with Dynegy Inc. for the village's electrical aggregation program which will run from July 2017 through December 2017 at a rate of 6.363 cents per kWh. All residents and small businesses have been included in the aggregation program, unless (1) you have chosen a supplier on your own, (2) you are part of ComEd’s real-time pricing program (3) you are a commercial customer using over 15,000 kWh per year, or (4) you have specifically chosen to opt-out. There is no cost for enrollment and you will not be charged a switching fee. You are able to opt out of the village's program at any time by calling Dynegy at 844-351-7691 or by emailing Dynegy.
Included in Dynegy's supply rate of 6.363 cents per kWh is (1) the Supply Charge and (2) the Transmission Services Charge. ComEd’s price to compare will fluctuate by +/- 0.5 cents/kWh each month due to the Purchased Electricity Adjustment. ComEd’s price-to-compare for the upcoming year will be announced later this spring. The village is unable to guarantee Dynegy's rate will result in savings until ComEd's rates are announced.
Summer (June 2017 to October 2017): 6.487 to 7.487 cents/kWh
Please note this rate is for the energy supply only and ComEd will continue to deliver electricity. You will pay the charges to deliver the electric supply from the transmission system to your home or business regardless of whether you purchase your electric supply from ComEd or a Retail Electric Supplier. This sample ComEd bill highlights and explains where the supply and delivery charges show up on your bill.
