The Village Board recently approved a new agreement with Dynegy Inc. for the village's electrical aggregation program which will run from December 2017 through November 2018 at a rate of 7.111 cents per kWh. All residents and small businesses have been included in the aggregation program, unless (1) you have chosen a supplier on your own, (2) you are part of ComEd’s real-time pricing program (3) you are a commercial customer using over 15,000 kWh per year, or (4) you have specifically chosen to opt-out. There is no cost for enrollment and you will not be charged a switching fee. You are able to opt out of the village's program at any time by calling Dynegy at 844-351-7691 or by emailing Dynegy.
Included in Dynegy's supply rate of 7.111 cents per kWh is (1) the Supply Charge and (2) the Transmission Services Charge. ComEd’s price to compare for the non-summer months (October 2017 through May 2018) will be 7.229 cents/kWh. Based on prevailing market conditions, it is expected that the price to compare will be the same or higher when it is again refreshed in June 2018. ComEd’s price to compare may fluctuate by as much as +/- 0.5 cents/kWh each month due to their Purchased Electricity Adjustment.
Please note this rate is for the energy supply only. ComEd will continue to deliver the electricity to your home or business and bill you for the same. Those ComEd delivery charges are the same regardless of whether you purchase your electric supply from ComEd, a Retail Electric Supplier or participate in the village’s Aggregation Program. This sample ComEd bill highlights and explains where the supply and delivery charges show up on your bill.
