The Village of Schaumburg is pleased to offer water customers the ability to pay water bills automatically. Eliminate worry about late payments and penalties, save money spent on bank checks and postage, also save precious time. Enrollment is easy. Complete the application and return it along with the necessary documentation (voided check or savings deposit slip).
Initial Payment
Once your completed enrollment application is received, it will undergo a pre-notification process which confirms the information you provided to the Village when signing up for the program. During this billing period, you will still receive a bill that must be paid via traditional means; no amount will be deducted from your checking/savings account. A message will be on the pre-notification bill stating that automatic payments will begin on your NEXT bill.
Payment Date
Your checking/savings account will be debited on the due date of the bill. When you receive your water bill, please review it. If you have questions or need to discuss your bill with a customer service representative, please contact us no less then 10 business days before the due date to resolve the charges before the draft occurs.
Availability of Funds
If we are unable to directly debit your banking account due to insufficient funds, account closed, or other problems at the stated financial institution, you will be assessed a $35 fee in addition to any late penalties charged. Also, your direct debit service will be terminated for this banking account.
Termination
Your auto draft will remain in effect unless we receive written notice from you 10 business days prior to the next scheduled billing date or until you move. A separate application for auto draft must be completed for each water service address (water account number), so please remember to reapply for auto draft if you move to a new Schaumburg address.
Change of Bank or Bank Account Numbers
Notify the Village of Schaumburg if you change your bank and/or your bank account number. Failure to notify the Village of any changes could result in late payment of your water bill (penalty fee) plus an assessment of $35 due to insufficient funds.
