Schaumburg is served by a Metra Rail Line connecting to Chicago’s Union Station to the east and Elgin to the west. Ample paid parking is available with the option to purchase reduced rate permit parking passes. FREE bicycle parking is also available, as well as bike lockers that are available to rent. Ticket Purchases

Metra is now accepting credit cards at all of its downtown stations, including Schaumburg’s Metra station, and other stations where a ticket agent is on duty.

In addition to the Schaumburg Metra Station, Metra accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover cards for all ticket purchases at their five downtown Chicago stations including Union Station. Riders can also now use their credit cards on Metra’s website, www.metrarail.com, for monthly passes and 10-ride ticket purchases.  

Parking Information

(For spaces located on the north side of the train tracks ONLY).

Monthly parking passes are available at the municipal center in the Finance Department, Monday - Friday, between 8am and 6pm, or at the Police Department after 6pm and all day Saturday and Sunday.

• The cost is $21 for one month, or $53 for a quarterly pass. 

• Patrons cannot reserve a specific space location; lot availability is on a first come first served basis.
• Handicap parking is available for vehicles displaying a handicap Placard or DP License Plate.
• Monthly parking passes must be clearly displayed within the front windshield of the vehicle. 
   

• The daily parking fee is $1.25 for 24 hours.
• Each parking space is numbered. Be sure to know your space number when you pay.
• Pay and Park is available for a maximum of 14 days which includes overnight parking.
• There are six (6) parking meters available, each accepting coins, paper currency, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. Exact change only.
