Schaumburg Regional Airport 

Schaumburg Regional Airport is owned by the Village of Schaumburg and is a public use general aviation airport encompassing 117 acres in both Cook County and DuPage County. The airport is home to numerous businesses including an award winning restaurant, aircraft charters, flight training, airplane and helicopter rides, aircraft maintenance, local news helicopters, and other aviation related businesses.   

Located at 905 W. Irving Park Road, it is easily accessible from I-290 via the Elgin-O'Hare Expressway. The airport is home to approximately 90 aircraft and handles about 35,000 operations per year. The airport generates a total economic impact to the region of over $18.9 million annually.

A Fun Place for All To Enjoy

  • There are grassy areas along the fence where you can sit and relax, or have a picnic while watching the airplanes and helicopters take off and land. 
  • Have a meal at Pilot Pete’s Restaurant, where you will have a bird’s eye view of the runway
  • Go to the lower level of the airport, where you can get a close up view of the airplanes from the passenger lounge.  This area is open to the general public. 
  • Group Tours For information on how to schedule a free tour of the airport, contact the Joti Baruni at Village of Schaumburg at 847.923.3863 or complete the Airport Tour Request Form.
  • Special Events  Over the years there have been a number of special events conducted at the airport including: 
    • Father's Day Gourmet Pancake BreakfastFor more than 20 years, the Experimental Aircraft Association, Chapter 153, has sponsored a Father's Day Gourmet Pancake Breakfast in the FBO hangar provided by Northwest Flyers. Check back for more information or visit the website.
    • Aviation Days Celebration: Aviation Days has featured a display of airplanes and helicopters and includes rides, food, and other fun activities. This event has generally been held in August; no date has been set for this event in 2014.   
    • Santa Claus Fly In: Event was held on December 8, 2013. Generally, the event is held on a Sunday early in December and sells out quickly. Information is made available through the Schaumburg Park District.
