Screen Test - Rules and Submission Guidleines 

  • Projects with a running time of 10 minutes or less will be accepted.
  • Festival date is Friday, April 23, 2010 at the Schaumburg Prairie Center for the Arts. Filmmaker must be present at festival (no substitutes allowed).
  • Entry fee is $10 per submission.
  • Only three submissions (i.e. projects) are allowed per person.
  • All projects should be submitted on DVD format.
  • Primary Director and Writer must be a student in grade 5 - 12 (as of fall, 2009).  Class and group projects are also accepted.
  • Categories include drama, comedy, nonfiction, experimental, animation and Song & Dance.
  • Production photographs and other supporting materials and information (i.e. bios) may be included with the application.
  • Permission and/or licensing rights for any music used in a project must be acquired from the publisher and/or composer.  Read more about using music in your project.
  • Screen Test reserves the right to withhold awards for any category where an award is not merited.
  • While the work submitted remains the property of the creating artist, the Village of Schaumburg reserves the right to use footage or stills from the project to promote the festival.
  • Materials may be returned upon request.  Please include a self-addressed stamped envelope (with sufficient postage).  The Village of Schaumburg cannot be held accountable for any items damaged during shipping.
  • All projects (DVDs, videotapes) must be labeled with title, director name and contact phone number.
  • Deadline for submission (postmark by):  Friday, March 12, 2010.
  • All filmmakers will be notified regarding acceptance into the festival by Monday, April, 2010.
