Schaumburg Summer Theatre returns with yet another hilarious Gilbert and Sullivan operetta, The Mikado!
Set in the small Japanse town of Titipu, The Mikado follows the plight of Ko-Ko, who is appointed Lord High Executioner only to find that his first victim is to be himself.
Brilliantly funny dialogue is made even more riotous by loopy songs performed by a talented cast of high school and college students. The score, one of Gilbert and Sullivan's most memorable, includes unforgetable gems such as "Three little maids," "Here's a How-De-Do!", and "A Wand'ring minstrel I."
The Mikado plays Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm, July 30, 31, August 6, and 7.
